CAVERSHAM HEIGHTS SOCIETY

|| 2008-2009 Programme || Visits & News ||

The society meets fortnightly on Wednesday evenings from September to April for talks and presentations on a wide range of subjects.  We also arrange visits to theatres and places of interest together with a four-day 'mini-holiday' usually in late May.  The talks and presentations, fourteen in number and mostly illustrated, are given by invited speakers.  The venue is:

Caversham Heights Methodist Church Hall

74 Highmoor Road, Caversham, Reading

Our

2008 MINI-HOLIDAY, from 9th to 12th May, to Devon was based on the Overmead Hotel, Torquay.  From there we visited various places of interest in the area including

Coleton Fishacre and Buckfast Abbey

Our 34th season commences at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 24th September 2008 with a short AGM, followed at 8pm by a talk by Anthony Stokes entitled

Pit of Shame - the Real Ballad of Reading Goal

The subscription for 2008-2009, covering the fourteen fortnightly meetings, is £11, but unfortunately we are now fully subscribed.
