The 14th edition of the Encounters Short Film Festival has climaxed with our Awards Ceremony and the presentation of our 12 presigious awards. Over 300 films were screened over 6 days. More than 500 delegates attended

Overall it's been a great success and we are already looking forward to next year's festival which will take place from 17 - 22 November 2009. Submissions will open in April 2009 and will close in June, keep checking the website for updates and further info on future events.

Encounters offers an important platform for both new and established filmmakers to showcase their work and is the place to be inspired, to talk technology, share ideas and make new connections.  6 days of screenings, special events, workshops and masterclasses and those all important networking opportunities: the parties!

And the winners are……

The Encounters Short Film Festival tonight announced the winners of its 14th annual international competition to find the world’s best new live action or animated films of under 30 minutes length.

At a gala ceremony - held before a capacity audience - a judging process begun in June, with the submission of 1,183 entries from 63 countries, reached its finale with presentations of the festival’s principal prizes.
