Welcome to Bedminster Down School
|

|
May I introduce Bedminster Down School, a mixed comprehensive of around 1000 pupils from age 11. We occupy an extensive site on the South West outskirts of Bristol serving a wide community between Ashton Vale and Dundry.
The school opened in 1955 as one of the city’s first Comprehensive Schools, and has maintained a reputation for promoting many aspects of success, and for providing a challenging yet supportive learning environment.
I can describe Bedminster Down School, without reservation, as a warm, friendly community. The staff are tremendous, offering a wide range of experiences both in and out of the classroom. We expect much from our pupils in terms of personal standards, discipline and attitude. We also celebrate the role of parents as co-educators and recognise the crucial role you play in helping your child learn.
