St Christopher's is a residential School for children and young people aged 5 to 19 who have severe and complex learning difficulties, Autism or profound and multiple learning difficulties. They all have very special requirements for their care and education.

Many of our pupils have language and communication disorders, some have physical disabilities and some display challenging behaviour. Some of the additional conditions are autistic spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Rett's Syndrome and Angelman's Syndrome.

The school term is 40 weeks. We also offer 52 week care facilities for those pupils and their families who need it.

St Christopher's is a registered charity that was founded on the curative educational principles of Rudolf Steiner in 1945 to offer an education to children with special educational needs who had been unable to learn and develop within the setting of mainstream schools. The school is constantly developing and adapting to the changing needs and requirements of the pupils.
The school is situated a mile from the centre of Bristol with good access to neighbourhood shops and libraries, theatres and other public amenities. Our pupils are able to enjoy shopping, going to cafes and concerts and other experiences that the city offers.

The nearby Durdham Down is ideal for walks on summer evenings or weekends. Pupils also enjoy frequent minibus outings to the seaside, National Trust parks and many other places around Bristol.

Visiting families find the close access to the major motorways very helpful.
