Why not come along, have a drink, a bite to eat at the barbeque, and enjoy the sight of so many learning to play cricket in safe surroundings while not blobbing in front of the TV. Raymond became a member in 1937 and played in the 1st XI as free-scoring elegant batsman and a brilliant fielder, from 1949 to 1970 he was the Club Treasurer and from 1972 a well informed Vice-President last attending the Luncheon in 2007. Ty Powell
Submitted by Stewie on 9 September, 2008 - 21:25.I've just heard that Ty Powell, Mark (who used to play for SCCC) has passed away. Mark gained the nickname 'R Mark' after Ty's numerous comments on his son's ability and performances.
Ty was a decent bloke who did a lot for cricket in this area. I've lost touch with Mark but I'm sure I speak for all of those who played juniors and seniors with him back in the 90's in passing on my condolences.
