EAST Staffordshire Borough Council will be making key changes to the way it collects waste during 2009 as Council leaders look at ways to increase recycling figures across the Borough.

First, we will be introducing blue bins early next year, followed by increasing the type of materials that we can collect through the kerbside scheme and, finally, will be improving the frequencies of collections.

Staffordshire has recently adopted its Joint Waste Strategy for Staffordshire 'Zero Waste to Landfill by 2020', which sets out its objectives over the coming years on how councils will manage waste in the County.
